In 1519 a small settlement was established on a Caribbean shore caressed by warm, tropical waters. The colonists wanted to name it San Cristobal in honour of Christopher Columbus, but the native Indians preferred a word from their own language: La Habana. San Cristobal de La Habana would of course become the beautiful and sensual cosmopolitan capital of Cuba. To mark the 480th anniversary of the founding of Havana, Corporacio n Habanos s.a. is offering a new masterpiece to satisfy the taste of the most demanding smokers with a unique blend of tobaccos in an exceptional range of vitolas. These cigars have "exquisite aroma and inimitable flavour", and two of the vitolas are new Habanos sizes: La Fuerza, like a robusto but extra long, and El Morro, similar in gauge to a Double Corona and slightly longer than a Churchill.
For the launch, the Serie Castillos has been chosen with vitolas which adopt the names of important castles of the city: El Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta and El Principe.
